The Founder

Marcus Andrew Webb

is a soundscape designer and acoustic consultant with over three decades of experience shaping how sound influences human behavior and spatial experience. He founded Sonic Element to meet a growing need in architecture and design: integrating intentional, evidence-informed sound environments into everyday spaces - not as an afterthought, but as a core part of the design process.

Trained as a musician, composer, and sound designer, Marcus also brings a background in UX and experience design, architectural and interior studies, and nearly a decade of acoustic consultancy. This cross-disciplinary perspective informs his work across healthcare, hospitality, transportation, and workplace environments.

What sets Sonic Element apart is its commitment to non-performative spaces - environments not built for audiences, but for daily life. While traditional acoustic consultants may focus on isolation or speech intelligibility, Sonic Element uses soundscape design to elevate how a space feels, flows, and functions.

Marcus pays close attention to often-overlooked sonic layers: transit corridors, outdoor walkways, rest areas, and communal zones. In these spaces, sound is not just a technical consideration- it’s a creative and strategic asset that shapes human experience in subtle but meaningful ways.
